Get Rid of Unwanted Hair with Facial Waxing
We all want smooth and seamless skin. We might have stubborn facial hair that starts to become a nuisance.
There are several remedies get rid of unwanted hair. At Comb, our beauty salon offers facial waxing as part of our novelty services. Facial waxing can get rid of some of those stubborn patches of unwanted facial hair and leave your skin looking smooth and radiant.
We offer a variety of waxing options:
- Face. Facial waxing concentrates on the full face including brow, lips, chin, cheeks, and forehead. This type of waxing does a good job of evenly ridding the face of unwanted hair and smoothing the texture.
- Lip. Sometimes as we grow older, or depending on our genetics and other factors, we might see the growth of hair above our lip, which can be unpleasant. A lip waxing focuses on the area above the lip and below the nose that can be a stubborn spot for facial hair.
- Brow. This will focus strictly on the eyebrow area and really demarcate the eyebrow line for a more pronounced, clean look. Brows are your expression! This will also target the area between the eyebrows that often hosts those relentless unibrow hairs.
How It’s Done
The process of facial waxing is relatively simple, although it is best performed in a salon by a professional. We have experience working with different types of skin and in using the best products. The biggest takeaway of facial waxing is that it removes hair at the root, thus leaving the area hair-free for a solid two weeks. Professional waxing beats using tweezers every day!
There is a couple of things to keep in mind before going through with this procedure:
- You need to grow out your facial hair a bit to give the wax something to grab. This means if you normally pluck your eyebrows, you might need to stop for a few days to a week.
- Typically, we dip an applicator into the prepared resin wax, distribute over the desired area, then pull out with a strip. The pulling action grabs onto the hair and yanks it from the root.
Things to Consider
Depending on the person and the sensitivity of the skin, facial waxing can be a painful process. Some people might characterize it as uncomfortable and others might hardly feel anything at all.
If your skin is sensitive or prone to breakouts, this might cause severe irritation or negative effects. Consult with our salon specialists about the options available.
Consider doing the procedure a few days or a week before a big day. For example, if you’re preparing for a wedding or graduation, you’ll want to avoid waxing of any sort on the same day to avoid redness or irritation.
After Care
While it’s a relatively simple procedure, waxing can certainly leave skin red and/or irritated. Everybody’s skin is different.
There are a few things you can do to help with the irritation. You can apply some aloe gel or hydrocortisone in the waxed area after the procedure to help with the soothing of the skin. Even an ice pack can help reduce the swelling and cool down the skin.
